Scenic Village Tour
3 hours and 30 minutes ( approximately 2 hours activities and 1 hours and 30 minutes scenic travel)
After departure from Windermere Railway Station, our four hour assisted sightseeing tour will visit some of the most popular villages in the Central Lake District:
Ambleside Pier
After departure we will make our way towards Ambleside and make a brief stop at Waterhead, at the head of Lake Windermere. You will be able to enjoy a short walk by Ambleside pier and enjoy the natural beauty of the largest natural lake in England.

Ambleside Village
In 1650 the town was granted a charter to hold a market. Later in the reign of James II, another charter was granted for the town to collect tolls. The town's Market Place became the commercial centre for agriculture and the wool trade. The old packhorse trail between Ambleside and Grasmere was the main route between the two towns before the new turnpike road was completed in 1770.

Rydal
After departing from Ambleside village, we make our way towards Rydal where you will enjoy the view over Rydal Water. This small lake has become very popular with visitors of Rydal Caves and those who enjoy the work and former home of William Wordsworth.

Grasmere
Arriving at Grasmere, we will make a stop at this beautiful location with peaceful lakeside walks and a historic 13th century church. Grasmere has some interesting shops, including the famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop.

After our visit to Grasmere we will make our return to the Windermere where your village tour will conclude.

* All our tours can accommodate groups up to 10 passengers. Please note that the default vehicle used on all our tours is a Volvo XC90. It can seat up to 6 passengers. Please note the two rear seats of this vehicle are designed for passengers who's height does not exceed 150 cm in length and it does require effort to get seated therefore this is ideal for groups that have kids. Please note that our default vehicle is a high platform vehicle that might not be suitable for participants with limited mobility capacity, however, an alternative low platform vehicle is available on request.
